Instead of pizza take an english muffin (100 calories) and top it with marinara sauce and a slice of cheese. The process takes about 5 minutes, is better for you than pizza and over time costs less.
Instead of a burger and fries try making a veggie burger with a side of edamame. You can get a box of frozen patties that taste great after 45 seconds in the microwave. If you top it with lettuce, cheese and ketchup you will never know the difference. Also, edamame topped with salt tastes just like french fries, only much healthier. This option is going to run you about $7, but will make more than one meal.

Good Morning America recently featured Todd Marks from Consumer Reports. Marks suggests that by being aware of product placement a consumer can save money even at the grocery store. According to Marks, grocery stores often stock pricier items in the center aisle. This is because the center aisle will catch the consumers attention first. In theory where your eye goes so does your wallet. If you look for products on the top and bottom shelves you will find the generic or home branded items that cost less. Also, weigh the cost of convenience and consider the price of buying in bulk.
