Here it is! Our second blog for National Financial Literacy Month...

Bank of America Wants YOU to have "Better Money Habits"

Do you think that you are financially literate? According to the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) 2013 Financial Literacy Survey, many Americans do not pride themselves on their financial literacy. In fact, "40 percent of respondents gave themselves a grade of C, D, or F when asked to grade themselves on their knowledge of personal finance" (Liebenson, 2013).

In order to help Americans become more confident in their financial literacy and in honor of National Financial Literacy Month, Bank of America has started a brand new education initiative. Bank of America has launched a website called BetterMoneyHabits.com, a website that aims "to provide both bank customers and non-customers alike free, self-paced, easy-to-understand resources to develop better money habits" (Liebenson, 2013). The website includes short videos that employ animation and interesting narration to convey various subjects under the financial literacy umbrella. The website offers advice for setting up an emergency fund, saving on every day expenses, creating a budget (which you can also read about in our most recent blog!), and, of course, tackling debt!

We at Savvy Student know that you all LOVE to learn about financial literacy. However, we recognize that you may not want to read lengthy articles for education and self-improvement. If that's the case, this new website is PERFECT for you! Don't believe us? Check it out! We promise you won't be disappointed...

Wishing you a savvy and financially literate day,
~Savvy Student
